Web design and development for Tampa Bay businesses, built to rank from day one

We design and build custom websites for businesses across Tampa Bay, with the structure, speed, and local search signals planned before the first page is drawn. One team, one job: a site that gets found and gets you calls.

What you get

  • A sitemap and page plan mapped to the searches your customers actually make
  • Custom design for phone and desktop, built from wireframes you approve
  • A hand-built, fast-loading front end with clean, semantic HTML
  • A content management setup your team can update without calling us
  • On-page SEO: titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links, and schema markup
  • Accessibility built to WCAG 2.2 AA: keyboard navigation, contrast, and alt text
  • Analytics, Search Console, and call and form tracking set up before launch
  • A redirect map so a redesign keeps the search value your old site earned

Web design and development in Tampa Bay, planned around search

Most business websites get built in the wrong order. A designer makes it look good, a developer makes it work, and months later someone hires an SEO vendor to figure out why nobody finds it. By then the page structure, URLs, and content are set, and fixing search means rebuilding half the site.

We do web design and development for Tampa Bay businesses as a single job. Before anything is drawn, we decide which searches each page should answer, how the pages link to each other, and what a visitor on a phone needs to see first. A plumber serving Pinellas Park and Largo needs a page for each core service and a tap-to-call button near the top of every screen. A Hyde Park architecture firm needs project pages that load quickly with large images and still read as text to Google.

That planning is the difference between a site built to rank from day one and a site that has to be retrofitted later. Getting it right at the wireframe costs far less than getting it right after launch.

The structure also carries your local search signals: business name, phone number, and service area stated the same way everywhere, schema markup that tells Google what kind of business you are, and location pages for the areas you serve when there's something real to say about them. We plan those into the sitemap instead of bolting them on later.

Custom website design that works on a phone first

Most of your visitors will arrive on a phone, often from a Google search or your Google Business Profile, and often while doing something else. A homeowner checking contractors between meetings or a visitor looking for lunch after a morning at the beach gives your site a few seconds. We design for that person first and scale up to desktop, not the other way around.

Custom website design here means layouts built around your content and your customers, not a theme with your logo dropped in. We write or edit the copy alongside the design so headlines say what you do, where you do it, and how to reach you. Off-the-shelf themes also tend to carry code your site never uses, and that extra weight slows every page.

Speed is a design decision as much as a technical one. Fewer fonts, properly sized images, and no carousel cycling through five stock photos all make a page faster. Google measures how quickly your pages load and respond. Your customers measure it too, by leaving.

Accessibility belongs in the same conversation. We build to WCAG 2.2 AA: every page works with a keyboard, text has enough contrast to read on a phone in bright sun, images carry alt text, and forms announce their errors to screen readers. The clean structure that helps a screen reader also helps search engines understand the page.

Website redesigns that keep what's already working

A website redesign is the riskiest moment in a site's search life. Change the URLs without redirects, drop pages that were quietly bringing in traffic, or rewrite copy without checking what it ranked for, and a business can lose months of visibility overnight.

Before we redesign anything, we pull your current rankings, traffic by page, and inbound links, so we know which pages carry weight. Those pages keep their URLs or get a permanent redirect to the closest match. Content that ranks gets improved, not deleted. After launch we monitor Search Console and fix broken links as they surface.

Sometimes a full redesign isn't the right answer. If your site is structurally sound but slow or thin on content, we'll tell you, and the work may look more like a performance and content overhaul. Tell us about your site and we'll give you a straight read on which one you need.

A redesign is also the moment to fix tracking. Many sites we audit can't tell which calls and form fills came from search, from ads, or from the Google Business Profile. We set up conversion tracking before launch, so you can see what the new site produces from its first week.

Sites for St. Petersburg, Tampa, and Clearwater businesses

We're based in St. Petersburg and work with businesses on both sides of the bay, and the work shifts with each market. Many St. Pete businesses compete on character and neighborhood, from the Grand Central District to the Edge District, so the site has to carry that personality and still load fast. Our page on custom website development in St. Petersburg covers that market.

Tampa is a bigger market, with professional services clustered around Westshore and downtown and more competitors chasing the same searches. Our web design work in Tampa leans on clear service architecture and deeper content. Clearwater sites often serve two audiences at once, visitors staying near Clearwater Beach and year-round residents in areas like Countryside, which our Clearwater web design page goes into.

If you also sell online or want ongoing SEO after launch, the same team handles it. See e-commerce and digital marketing.

How it runs

  1. Search and site audit

We look at what your current site ranks for, what it gets wrong, and what competitors in your part of Tampa Bay show up for. With no site yet, we start from the searches your customers use.

  2. Sitemap and wireframes

Every page gets one job and one primary search term before visual design starts. You approve the structure in grayscale, so the conversation stays on what each page says and does.

  3. Design

We design the key templates on a phone screen first, then desktop. You review real layouts with real copy, not placeholder text.

  4. Build and content

We build the site, load the content, write the metadata and schema, and test speed and accessibility on actual devices.

  5. Launch and redirects

Every old URL gets mapped to its new home, the sitemap goes to Google, and we watch Search Console for crawl errors in the weeks after launch.

Questions we hear

How long does a website take to build?

It depends on scope. A focused site with a handful of service pages moves faster than one with dozens of locations, a product catalog, or booking and CRM integrations. The biggest variables are content (who writes it and how quickly it gets approved) and the number of feedback rounds. We give you a schedule after discovery, once we know what the site has to do.

Do you write the content, or do we?

Either works. We can write from interviews with you, edit what you already have, or polish a draft you provide. We always write the search-facing parts ourselves: page titles, meta descriptions, headings, and schema, because that's where design and SEO meet.

Can we update the site ourselves after launch?

Yes. We set up a content management system for the things you'll change often, like services, team members, blog posts, and hours, and walk your team through it. New templates and anything that affects site speed are better left to us, and we'll make clear which is which.

Will a redesign hurt our Google rankings?

It can if it's done carelessly, which is why we audit before we redesign. We keep or redirect every URL with search value, preserve content that ranks, and watch Search Console after launch. Some movement in the first weeks is normal while Google recrawls the site; a planned migration is designed to keep that movement small.

Do you only work with businesses in St. Petersburg?

No. We're based in St. Petersburg and work with businesses across Tampa Bay, including Tampa, Clearwater, and the rest of Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. Most of the work happens over video calls, shared documents, and a staging site you can click through on your own schedule.
